Aromas of cherry and spice lead to a lighter weight Pinot offering flavors of red cherry with a touch of earthiness for interest. A lighter style than Wrath's other Pinot bottlings, this wine reflects its name EX which means "out of" or "" in Latin. These grapes are some of the first harvested from the estate vineyard and the wine is produced with minimal handling so that the result reflects a focus on the pure flavor of sustainably grown grapes from San Saba Vineyard. Upfront cherry and spice aromas lead to flavors of red fruit, spice and a touch of earthiness all bound by clean tannins. Oak aging is kept to low so that there is some depth added from the barrels but the focus remains on the personality of estate fruit.
