Hornbrook, the California town situated just south of the Oregon border is a jumping off point into the productive deer hunting grounds of the Siskyou Mountains. Pacific Juniper grows wild all across this range, and it is there that Andy Donald, founder of Hornbrook gin, was inspired to distill utilizing the native Californian juniper. With the help of master distiller Jordan Via, Hornbrook gin was born.
The Ten Point Gin judiciously combines Wild Pacific and Italian juniper to give a classic backbone with a delicious CA twist. Grapefruit peel, lime peel, star anise, jasmine flower, fennel seed, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, and cubeb berries round out what would be a classic London Dry profile, however, the production happens on a state of the art vaccum still. The lower temperatures of vaccum distillation allow for extra fresh extractions of unrivaled delicacy. The end result is a beautiful gin that can be the absolute star of the martini show or seemlessly blend into any number of classic gin cocktails.
